Winter sports

 You will find in the region many skating places. Arenas, open-air skating rink, many kilometers on river. You will certainly find the best area for you. The opening and closing dates are just given for your information and can vary depending the weather. 

Arenas
Chapeau Arena

From October 1st to March 31st, public skating is offered from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Reasonable cost. Supervision provided.

Fort Coulonge Arena

From October 15th to March 31st, public skating is offered from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. Reasonable cost. Supervision on location. 

Ladysmith Arena

From January 1st to March 15th, public skating is offered free of charge from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and also from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Supervision provided.

Shawville Arena

From October 15th to March 31st, public skating is offered from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (occasionally on Saturday). Reasonable cost. Supervision provided.

Bryson

From December 15th to March 15th, free skating is offered Monday to Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Supervision on location.

Campbell's Bay

From December 20th to March 15th, free skating is offered Monday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and also on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Danford Lake

From December 15th to March 15th, public skating is offered free of charge from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. No supervision on location. Lighted rink.

Fort-Coulonge

Otter Lake

Natural sites

The Patro Canal
Fort-Coulonge - (819) 683 3347
Ideal for family skating, the canal (1.5 km long) has two entrances : intersection of Bertrand St. and Bord de l'Eau Rd. and behind the St-Andrew Church on Pont Rouge Rd. A snack bar is opened on week-ends. The canal is lighted till 11:00 p.m.

The Bristol Way
Wharf Road, Norway Bay - (819) 647 5555
The rink will be open this week (January 5th) on the Ottawa River, where you find the beautiful beaches in  Summer. Free skating is offered from Wednesday to Sunday with supervision. Skating is not supervised on Monday and Tuesday. Cottage for warming up. Lighted promenade of 1.5 km long.
